A well-rounded exercise program consists of a warm-up with a
heart healthy exercise like walking. Muscle strength training
exercises include functional strength moves to strengthen the
muscles you use every day. Moving balance exercises work to
improve balance and reduce the risk of falls. Stretching will
improve balance and reduce the risk of falls. Stretching will
improve range of motion and reduce the risk of injury.
A multi-faceted exercise program can increase life expectancy,
keep your brain healthy, control blood pressure, reduce the risk
of heart disease, diabetes, and decrease symptoms of depression.
It can change your life! Practicing positive habits that include
physical activity, strength training, balance exercises,
mindfulness and stretching can improve and enhance a person’s
quality of life.
This 30-minute class will take participants through a warm-up,
and gentle strength, balance and stretching movements that
can easily be performed by anyone - at any fitness level –
at home or at a gym. Please wear comfortable clothes and
sneakers. Chairs will be provided to support balance, if needed.
Space is limited to 15 people, so please RSVP to
[email protected] by Friday, September 11 th to reserve your spot.
